SWR High School students Sara Grosso and Emma Longboat shared stories of directing a virtual production as guests on the Spotlight on Long Island Schools show on LI News Radio 103.9 FM.

Hosted by Mr. Robert Vecchio on Zoom, the question-and-answer format, 30-minute show highlighted the Shoreham-Wading River High School’s Mutually Assured Destruction, the online stage production that took place on March 23 and March 24. Sara and Emma were joined by Spanish teacher and supervisor to the performance Ms. Maryanne Agius to talk about the challenges of working virtually, how the students motivated each other and the theme of the ten vignettes in the tribute to family.

Featuring high school students Torre Cintorino, Liam Flatley, Melissa Liguori, Mia Lombardi, Sara McAuliffe, Chloe McNamara, Emily Murray, Carter Rubin and Gavin Trezza, each play explored a facet of brotherhood and sisterhood that prompted the undeniable bond between siblings. The show’s crew – Eric Guli, Hunter Lange, Meghan Klotz and Gianna Mango – stage manager Kayla Finnegan, costume designer Nadia Grosso and lighting and sound crew Conor McAuliffe and Matthew McMullan also contributed to the show’s success.

The radio show air date is yet to be determined.
