Dozens of Shoreham-Wading River High School students trekked to Albany on March 5 to observe government in action. The AP U.S. Government and Politics students, along with Principal Frank Pugliese, Assistant Principal Dan Ackerman, AP teacher Walter Caskie and aide Susan Quinn, met and spoke with Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio and State Sen. Anthony Palumbo.

The students were given a tour of the state legislative building and were able to view the state assembly and legislature in session. They also witnessed a press conference sponsored by MADD to urge lawmakers to lower the impaired driving limit to a 0.05 blood alcohol level.
