Shoreham-Wading River High School journalism teacher Mr. Vincent Ball and Wildcat Pause adviser Ms. Sara Trenn took students to Adelphi University's Press Day on Feb. 16. Three students enrolled in Mr. Ball’s journalism class were recognized for their exceptional reporting.

Cali Krause and Elysa Corso received the Quill Award for Best Arts Review for their coverage of the 2023 Coffeehouse show. Katie Spencer earned second place honors for Best News Story for her reporting on upgrades to SWR’s campus.

“I'm incredibly pleased for the students to receive these honors,” Mr. Ball said. “The students work incredibly hard to get their stories published in the paper, and this recognition is a clear testament to the craft of journalistic storytelling.”
