Shoreham-Wading River High School’s World Languages Club, under the advisement of Marcie O’Donnell, sold one-of-a-kind pulseras (Spanish for bracelets) and purses for The Pulsera Project.

They received about 500 bracelets and several bags made by artisans who live in Nicaragua and Guatemala. Each bracelet and bag had a tag with the person’s picture and name on it as well as information on the project. There were multiple types of bracelets and every one was unique. The club raised $510, which will benefit those who created them by sustaining employment for the artisans, in addition to funding costs for their schooling and housing.
