The Shoreham-Wading River School District proudly recognized Mr. Joe Condon as the high school wrestling Coach of the Year, an honor bestowed by Newsday this past week. Mr. Condon was honored at the March 9 Board of Education meeting for his efforts in leading the Division II Wildcats to the Suffolk Dual Meet championship with a 36-32 win over Division I Brentwood. Shoreham-Wading River finished the season with a 9-0 record.
Mr. Condon was applauded by the Board members and lauded by Superintendent of Schools Mr. Gerard Poole as a dedicated, passionate, hardworking and staunch advocate for the program. “This was incredibly well-deserved,” Mr. Poole said. Board of Education President Mr. Michael Lewis and Mr. Poole presented Mr. Condon with a certificate of excellence for his commitment to the team.
