Three Shoreham-Wading River High School students were honored at the Long Island Science Congress Awards ceremony on June 13. Alex Tishchenko won an award from ASM International for his project on lithium-ion batteries in the Senior Division fair, and Avery DeBono and Will Lister were awarded High Honors in the Junior Division fair for their DNA barcoding project on ants. The trio are students in the high school’s Science Research course taught by teacher Dana Schaefer.
