Miller Avenue School second graders celebrated the last days of the school year by visiting one of Long Island’s most interactive and educational experiences – the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead.

The young explorers  visited the butterfly habitat, went to the sea lion show and took a boat ride on the Atlantis Explorer learning about the importance of marine life and environmental preservation.

“The kids loved visiting Colonel Island and learning about sea life in the Peconic River and Flanders Bay,” teacher Linda Burke said.
