Miller Avenue School students welcomed a special visitor to the school recently.

Suffolk County Police Officer Nicholas Maio visited with Farrah Franquiz and Samantha Conklin’s kindergarten class. Not only did Officer Maio visit with the students to share his work, but he also got to visit with his mom, teaching assistant Maria Maio.

Officer Maio, who works out of Stony Brook University, explained different ways police officers help our community as well as showed the students some of the tools he uses at work.
