At the May 6 Board of Education meeting, Wading River School music teachers Christina Meli and Mark Verity and Prodell music teacher John Samonte read out the names of students from the two schools who were selected to perform in the Intermediate Long Island String Festival. They are Wading River School students Evelyn Lauckhardt, John Lister, Sophie Moreira and Elliot Thomas and Prodell Middle School sixth grader Sophia Tishchenko, seventh graders Ailie Korsakas, Owen Schwartz and Alexis Yau and eighth grader Zachary Lister.

The teachers also shared the names of the students selected into the 2025 Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association's honors ensembles.
