Kindergarten students in Caitlin Dennehy’s class at Miller Avenue School found out they can create flowers and towers and more in between (one made a crown, she looked like a queen) in a makerspace with librarian Brittany LaValle. The students’ imaginations guided them as worked on building with different materials and rotated stations to try their hand at something new. The activity required them to plan and tap into their engineering skills resulting in a mix of learning and enjoyment.
“They had so much fun using different manipulatives and some students even chose to build together,” Ms. Dennehy said.
