The Shoreham-Wading River High School girls varsity field hockey team
celebrated Senior Day this week. Congratulated by head coach Jenna
Stevenson, assistant coach Mallory Guerin and family members, it was a
special occasion for the seven who finish their participation at the end
of the season - Abigail Korzekwinski, Ashley Luppens, Gabriella Meli,
Summer Steimel, and Madeline Rutkowsky. “These veteran students added to
the successes of the team and we are grateful for the positive
influences they have had on the younger players,” Mark Passamonte, the
district’s director of health, physical education, athletics and nurses
said. “We will miss their contributions to the sport.”
