District students have been pursuing their creative interests during a summer Theatre Arts program and will showcase their talents during three exciting musicals on Aug. 14, 15 and 16.
Dozens of students took part in this year’s program, working collaboratively to create stage performances of “The Aristocats Kids,” “Hats,” and “Frozen, Jr.” The District summer mainstay enables students to create friendships, acquire team-building skills, develop theatrical abilities as well as enhance their musical studies through instrumental and vocal lessons. It is coordinated by program director Paula Albert-Franz, who retired in 2018 from Albert G. Prodell Middle School after 32 years of teaching music in the district. “The Aristocats Kids” featuring students in grades 3-6, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m., students in grades K-3 will perform “Hats,” on Thursday, August 15 at 1 p.m. and students in grades 5-10 will take the stage to present “Frozen Jr.” on Friday, August 16 at 3 p.m. All performance will take place in the auditorium at Albert G. Prodell Middle School.
