Three students in the High School’s Gay-Straight Alliance presented an update of the club’s progress throughout the school year at a recent Board of Education meeting. Introduced by advisers, physical education teacher Ms. Brittany Davis and English teacher Mr. Edward Storck, students Kelly Beagen, Katie Loscalzo and Emily Mulcahy, spoke of the guest speakers who have visited the school, several special events they hosted and their attendance at the annual LGBT Conference at Stony Brook University. Their future plans include coordinating a GSA conference with workshops to help build more positive relationships and to help make Long Island a stronger environment for the LGBT community.
