Congratulations to senior Julia Petreczky for being named a recipient of a Brookhaven Science Associates 2019 college scholarship. She will receive $2,500 per year for up to four years of study at Stony Brook University, where she will major in biochemistry for a career in research.

Brookhaven Science Associates is an organization that manages Brookhaven National Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy. The annual scholarships they present are awarded to children of employees at BNL – a longstanding tradition that began in 1965.

“We are so proud of Julia for this accomplishment,” Principal Frank Pugliese said. “Her pursuit of higher education in this field is a great representation of the scientific and academic skills she gained in high school. She will certainly benefit from this scholarship and have many opportunities to follow her career passions.”
