A first for the SWR High School social studies department was a recent
supplemental activity that coincided with classroom lessons. Mrs. Maria
Lovasco and Mr. Russ Mitchinson’s classes visited the school’s library
where librarian Ms. Kris Hanson introduced them to using the virtual
reality goggles. The students had an opportunity to view the historic
Palace of Versailles and evaluate the characteristics of absolute
monarchs in France.
“The VR technology gave the students a different perspective of the
whole estate, essentially bringing to life its importance as a national
palace, Mrs. Lovasco said. “It really sparked an additional layer of
interest for the students in learning about its significance.”
