The Shoreham-Wading River School District congratulates seniors Katie Loscalzo, Mahdi Rashidzada, Leah Roth and Zana Sawas for their volunteer participation and graduation from the Riverhead Youth Court. The students took part in many hours of mandatory training by law enforcement professionals to assume the roles of judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, clerk-bailiff, jury foreperson and juror.

“This was such a valuable learning experience for our students,” Shoreham-Wading River High School Principal Mr. Frank Pugliese said. “In addition to developing real-world skills such as public speaking and debating techniques, these students helped to provide their peers a more positive understanding of authority and the law. We congratulate them for their volunteer service.”
