Important Safety Message

The District and the Riverhead Police Department have been notified that a suspicious silver sedan occupied by two adult males was parked on Hidden Pond Path in Wading River reportedly taking cell phone photos as students were dropped off at a nearby bus stop yesterday.  We have been in contact with the Riverhead Police Department on this matter and have been advised additional patrol vehicles will be in the area to monitor the section firsthand.  

As a school district we take matters of student safety and security very seriously and remain steadfast in our efforts to safeguard all. This latest incident serves as an important reminder that if you see something, say something. Shoreham-Wading River is a beautiful and safe community, but it is important that we remain vigilant in our collective efforts to maintain that sense of security. Please take this opportunity to have conversations with your child/children about remaining aware of their surroundings when traveling to and from school, as well as discuss the appropriate steps to take in an emergency.
