High School students Keyi Chen and Mahdi Rashidzada were honored at the
recent Suffolk County Math Teachers’ Association awards dinner.
Mahdi, a junior, was recognized for his performance on the Suffolk
County Pre-Calculus Course contest. Keyi, a senior, was honored for his
performance on the Suffolk County Calculus Course contest. Keyi was also
recognized as an individual high scorer for the league in which the SWR
Mathletes compete.
Developed by the Suffolk County Mathematics Teacher Association, the
Course contests are designed to challenge students in their specific
math courses. All Honors math students at Shoreham-Wading River
participate as part of the honors curriculum. Students who score in top
