Students across the SWR School District were eager to start a new academic year as they arrived at their respective schools on Sept. 6.
The first day of school brought about new experiences for all students, specifically those starting their first year of elementary, middle or high school. Teachers and administrators helped ease those transitions throughout the day.
At Shoreham-Wading River High School, seniors and staff helped freshmen navigate the hallways. Students at Prodell met new Assistant Principal Mrs. Lauren Biscardi and learned where their classrooms were located, while Wading River School and Miller Avenue School students were welcomed into their classrooms by teachers and other staff members for a first day of reading, lessons and getting to know each other.
