Wading River School students welcomed a special visitor recently. Ranger Eric Powers, a wildlife biologist from CEED (Center for Environmental Education and Discovery) gave students a special presentation about the importance of quail in the local environment to help reduce the tick population. Ranger Eric brought with him a corn snake, stick bug and samples of ticks under glass or wrapped in tape. The quail eggs were also delivered and are in incubators, getting ready to hatch in a few weeks.
