The Shoreham-Wading River School District has again been ranked among the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation’s Best Communities for Music Education in America. The honor acknowledges schools and districts across the country for their dedication to and support for music education as part of the core curriculum. This is the fourth consecutive year that Shoreham-Wading River has received the prestigious national recognition.

“We are honored to receive this award and recognize the efforts of our districtwide music educators and students,” Superintendent of Schools Mr. Gerard Poole said. “As research points to the numerous positive educational, cognitive and social skill benefits of music education, our students continue to be engaged in musical opportunities both during the school day and in the greater community.”
