Five Shoreham-Wading River seniors have been officially conferred as Eagle Scouts at a ceremony on March 5 at the Wading River Fire Department.

They were surrounded by fellow troop members of Boy Scout Troop 94 in Wading River, family members, and Shoreham-Wading River High School Principal Frank Pugliese, Assistant Principal John Holownia and music teacher Kevin O’Brien to acknowledge the gifts to the school community as well as the regional community.

Students Sean Dany, Bradley Doherty, Matthew Iberger, Gavin Tezza and Bryan Vogel were honored for the projects completed to earn the prestigious honor. Sean built two donation bins at Calverton’s Kent Animal Shelter. Bradley built four archery stands for Camp DeWolfe in Wading River. Matthew built four benches that convert into picnic tables. Gavin built five bandstands that were donated to Shoreham-Wading River High School. Bryan built horse feed bins and a balance beam to rehabilitate horses at Warrior Ranch Foundation in Calverton.

“The school district takes great pride in congratulating these young men who are members of the Class of 2023,” Mr. Pugliese said. “Not only do our students benefit from these contributions, our local community will get to experience their efforts in their thoughtful and useful projects.”
