Shoreham-Wading River High School students Julianna O’Neill, Katelyn Schaefer and Sasha Seletskaya all had the amazing opportunity to meet with the director of science for the U.S. Department of Energy, Dr. Asmeret Asefaw Berhe, and Dr. Vanessa Chan, DOE chief commercialization officer and director of the Office of Technology Transitions, this winter when they visited Brookhaven National Laboratory and toured the NSLS-II. The students shared the background of their projects and their experiences as young women in science through SPARK and the SWR Science Research Program.
