The Shoreham-Wading River High School girls basketball team won the Suffolk County Class A Championship on Feb. 25. This is the first county championship for the district’s girls Wildcats basketball team.

Next up for the team is the Suffolk County Small School Championship game vs. Port Jefferson. The winner of that game will play Walt Whitman in the overall Suffolk County Championship on Saturday, March 4 at Stony Brook University. The team has now qualified for the Long Island Championship which will be played on Saturday, March 11 against the Nassau County Class A Champion who is yet to be determined.

Congratulations to team members Haylie Abrams, Alyssa Bell, Sophie Costello, Katie Coster, Charlotte Erb, Kelsey Hughes, Anabel Keegan, Kady Keegan, Grayce Kitchen, GraceAnn Leonard, Juliana Mahan, Reese Marcario, Colleen Ohrtman and Annie Sheehan and coach Adam Lievre.
