Shoreham-Wading River High School students attended a Virtual Enterprise networking event and trade show at Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead in December. Along with teacher Ms. Melissa Cosgrove, the two classes shared their own Virtual Enterprise companies, Long Island Custom Clothing and Next Gen Sports.

According to Ms. Cosgrove, the trade show gave students the opportunity to present their firms and to set up a sales booth. Students were also able to network with students from other Virtual Enterprise firms, present a 20-second sales pitch to the audience from the podium, conduct business transactions for their company and make purchases using the Virtual Enterprise point of sale system.

“I am excited with Ms. Cosgrove’s progress with Virtual Enterprise, being only the second year of the program,” Dr. Joseph Paolicelli, district director of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, said.
