SWR art teachers Jason Andria, Rose Petruzzellis and Samantha Shepard attended Professional Development Day at the Art League of Long Island on Nov. 8. The trio learned about cyanotype printmaking, a process of painting with light and accessible materials. They worked with master printmaker Chris Ann Ambery to understand the process of creating cyanotype images by utilizing UV light, water and other natural items to achieve vibrant and dynamic prints. The examples here are the original creation and the final print. The educators then brought the work outside to expose it to light.
