Shoreham-Wading River High School students in Mr. Nick Vertucci’s Architecture class and Mr. Walter Caskie’s World of Technology class took a field trip to Riverhead Building Supply’s Manufacturing and Distribution Centers in Calverton.

Students saw how interior doors and custom millwork and windows are assembled. They also met with the company’s director of human resources for a tour of the corporate office. They were schooled in some of the essential elements of applying for a job, résumé preparation, interviewing skills, job descriptions, employment expectations and opportunities for advancement within the company. The tour concluded with a visit to the flagship retail store in Riverhead, where students toured the store, design showroom, lumber yard and vehicle fleet.
