Albert G. Prodell Middle School seventh and eighth graders performed at the 2022 Long Island Music Festival at Suffolk County Community College recently. All band, chorus and orchestra students performed two selections for a panel of judges who provided comments as well as a grade based on certain criteria. Additionally, the judges worked with each ensemble following the performances to provide helpful tips and suggestions for further growth in the students’ overall musicianship skills. As part of the Long Island Music Festival experience, the students celebrated their accomplishments at Adventureland after their performance.

“This opportunity served to be a very fulfilling experience for the students,” choral teacher Mr. John Samonte said. “They performed with strong musicality, presented themselves (and represented their school) with great professionalism, and were very attentive to the musical feedback provided by the judges.”

Prodell Middle School band, chorus and orchestra students all received the top rating of Superior and were each awarded a gold trophy for their accomplishments, which will be displayed outside the middle school auditorium.
