Students Rise to Celebrate SWR Educators

Students with the plants they grew thumbnail216685
It’s amazing what a seed can do.

That is what students in Shoreham-Wading River witnessed when they planted in the Albert G. Prodell Middle School greenhouse seeds for herbs including spearmint, basil, rosemary, cilantro and parsley. With daily watering and nurturing, students Andrew Brennan, Josh Mar-Mendoza, Connor Prunty, Maeve Prunty and Demetrius Serras along with teacher Ms. Linda Loscalzo watched them grow and flourish enough to repot. The students then learned uses for the herbs in Home and Careers class with teacher Ms. Michaela Berg.

The project continued to take root and came to fruition when the students hand delivered a special plant to each teacher in the school to thank and honor them for their unwavering commitment to education on national Teacher Appreciation Day.
