Students from Shoreham-Wading River High School spent a day collecting data from local waterways as participants in the annual Day in the Life of the Peconic Estuary citizen science campaign.
Along with science research teacher Dana Schaefer and assistance from scientists from Cornell Cooperative Extension and Brookhaven National Laboratory, the young scientists used procedures and methodologies learned in class to investigate collected biological samplings and water quality.
