Shoreham-Wading River High School orchestra students were presented with the opportunity to participate in master classes and coaching sessions led by Liesl Schoenberger Doty and Marie-Elaine Gagnon, string professors from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.

Students Natalie Acker, Liam Flatley, Yiya Hu, Gianna Mango, Alicia Minty, Anja Minty, Jessica Nastasi, Jocelyn Nastasi, Killian O’Reilly, Lucas Portuese and Asma Rashidzada performed for their orchestra peers and received valuable feedback from the string professors.

“The students learned about various performance techniques, how to improve their own playing by utilizing different practice methods and how to play music together as a member of an ensemble,” orchestra and music theory teacher Ashley O’Connor said.
