Kindness is Essential!

Be Kind Graphic thumbnail200284
Students in Shoreham-Wading River continue with the Wildcats with Character initiative and are cultivating kindness with simple acts including giving a compliment, thanking someone and offering to help.

Offering to help is what the community did when Wading River School Principal Lou Parrinello encouraged all students to wear the color red for a school-wide aerial photo for the October theme of kindness. The beautiful weather was the perfect backdrop for the students to join together and spell out a special message for the world to see: BE KIND.

Community resident and parent Mr. Joseph Minetti took the photo on the back lawn of the school. Others involved in creating the successful moment include physical education teacher Mr. John Regazzi for sizing and spacing out the letters; teachers Mrs. Jacqueline Margraf, Mrs. Tracy O’Lear and Mrs. Kelly Toole for organizing the students on the different letters; and all the faculty, students and parents, who helped spread plenty of kindness behind the scenes.
