Peer Mentoring Students Share Kindness

Students Acting In A Skit thumbnail200266
Replacing an act of annoyance or anger with an act of kindness was the focus of several skits that the High School’s Peer Mentoring Theater class performed as part of October’s Wildcats with Character theme: kindness.

According to special education teacher Caitlin Gould, students collaborated with their peers to come up with ideas for different situations that show kindness. Together, their groups wrote a script for the characters in the scenes based on real-life experiences. They practiced memorizing their lines and acting out the situations that took place in a grocery store, a school and an arcade. The audience had a front-row experience of the program that continues to provide opportunities to develop acting and public-speaking skills for both mentors and mentees.
