The SWR Board of Education recognized a milestone in the careers of several teachers when they granted tenure to 11 educators at a recent meeting.

To the applause of family members, colleagues and community members, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Brian Heyward named the teachers – mathematics teacher Kimberly Avelin, foreign language teacher Elizabeth Barlow, special education teacher Caitlin Bolembach, mathematics teacher Robert Christensen, physical education teacher Brittany Davis, social studies teacher Maria Lovasco, special education teacher Joseph Mordarski, special education teacher Kristina Tanner, speech teacher Chelsea Tirone, technology teacher Nicholas Vertucci and music teacher Frederick Volz.

The Shoreham-Wading River school community commends these educators for their efforts in advancing the goals and mission of the district.
