Bringing Literature to Life

Students in Wading River School brought literature to life with characters from Roald Dahl’s “Matilda,” a perfect match for the school’s mission of encouraging good character traits, creativity, collaboration and personal responsibility to achieve success.

Third-grade students in Jill Stevenson’s and Jennifer Simicich’s class transformed into the characters and role-played throughout the day. With Mrs. Stevenson playing the part of the gentle Miss Honey and Mrs. Simicich as the antagonistic Miss Trunchbull, reading the story together brought Matilda’s intellectual gifts to life.
