Students in the High School’s Fashion Design 1 and 2 classes had a firsthand look at the fashion world when they ventured into New York City and toured the fashion exhibit on designers Anna Sui and Vera Neumann at the Museum of Arts and Design. They also visited the Izquierdo Studio, which specializes in costume design for high-end celebrities and events. The students were given a tour by the lead costume designer and were invited to watch designers work on current commissions. “We even got a sneak peek at a design they were creating for an episode of ‘Saturday Night Live,’” said art teacher Sam Shepard, who accompanied the students along with art teacher Rose Petruzzellis.
