Use of Hateful Symbol at the High School

Posted Date: 06/03/26 (09:11 AM)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to inform you that a swastika was discovered drawn on a cabinet in a classroom at the High School yesterday. The use of hateful symbols is completely unacceptable and contrary to our District's core values of respect, inclusivity, and acceptance.

School administrators are actively investigating this matter and law enforcement has been notified. Any individual found responsible will face appropriate disciplinary consequences in accordance with the District's Code of Conduct.

The District remains committed to educating students about the importance of positive interactions, responsible behavior, and respect for others. Through age-appropriate lessons, assemblies, and ongoing discussions, we continue to promote a culture of empathy, understanding, and inclusion throughout our schools.

Building and sustaining an inclusive community is a shared responsibility. Please take this opportunity to remind your child that hateful language, symbols, and actions have no place in our schools and will not be tolerated.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure that our schools remain safe, respectful, and inclusive environments for all.

Sincerely,
Gerard W. Poole
Superintendent of Schools
