Clever

  • Clever is a secure online portal that makes it easy for students to access all of their digital learning tools in one place. With a single login, your child can open the apps and programs they use in class—like i-Ready, BrainPOP, or any subject-specific tools—without needing to remember multiple passwords.

    By logging into Clever, students can quickly get to the resources they need to support their learning, whether they’re at school or at home. It helps keep everything organized, so they can spend more time learning and less time navigating between websites.

  • Students can log into Clever in two ways:

    Log in with Google

    • Use your child’s school Google account (their email address and password) and click “Log In with Google” on the login screen.

    Log in with a Clever Badge (QR Code)

    • For younger students, Clever badges make logging in easy—just scan the badge with a device’s camera.
      • Note: If prompted by your browser, be sure to allow access to the camera
    1. Visit: Click here to log in to Clever to log in
    2. If your child is already logged into their Chromebook, click the Google Waffle in the top right corner. Click the Clever icon to access Clever.

    1. If your child uses a Clever Badge and needs a replacement, follow these steps:
      1. Log in to Clever using your Child’s Google account.
      2. Click the student profile icon on the top right.
      3. Select “Download Badge.”
      4. The badge will download as a PDF file that can be printed and reused.

Google for Education

  • Google for Education is a suite of secure, easy-to-use tools that support teaching and learning in the classroom and at home. Students in our district use their school Google accounts to access tools like Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Slides, and Google Classroom. These tools help them collaborate with classmates, complete assignments, and stay organized—all in one place.

  • Google for Education accounts are managed by the school district and have extra privacy protections. They do not allow access to public Gmail, YouTube comments, or other consumer services unless specifically approved.

  • Yes. Our district works with Google to ensure student accounts are secure and meet privacy laws such as FERPA and Ed Law 2-d.  Students can only communicate adn collaborate within our district’s domain unless otherwise permitted.

  • Common tools include Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, Slides, Gmail (if enabled), Calendar, and more. All are designed to support learning, collaboration, and organization.

  • Yes! Students can log in to their Google for Education account from any device with internet access.

  • Student passwords are uploaded into the Infinite Campus Briefcase within the Parent Portal.  Your child’s username and password can be found there.

Google Classroom

  • Students log in using their school-issued Google account. If you do not know your child’s username and password, that information can be found in the Campus Briefcase section of the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

  • Stream: a running feed of announcements and posts from the teacher.

    Classwork: where assignments, quizzes, and materials are organized by topic

    People: a list of classmates and teachers connected to the class

Google Classroom is like a digital classroom hub. Teachers use it to post assignments, share resources, send announcements, and give feedback. Students can turn in their work, see what’s due, and communicate with their teachers—all from one easy-to-navigate platform. Parents can receive summary emails to stay informed about upcoming work and missing assignments.

Google Drive

Google Drive is an online storage space where students can keep all their school files—like homework, projects, and notes—safe and organized. It works like a digital backpack that never gets too full. Students can access their Drive from any device with internet, and everything is automatically saved.

  • Students store documents, slideshows, images, videos, and class materials shared by teachers.

  • Files can be organized into folders (just like on a computer). Students can sort by subject, project, or teacher to stay organized.

  • Yes. Students can share files with classmates or teachers for group work or feedback. Sharing settings can be set to view-only, comment, or edit.

     

  • Deleted files go to the Trash folder and can be restored within 30 days.

  • Not directly. Students would need to log in and show you their Drive.

Google Docs

  • Assignments are usually submitted through Google Classroom. Students click “Turn In” once they’ve finished working on a Doc.

  • Yes! Google Docs allows for real-time collaboration, so multiple students (or a student and teacher) can work on the same document together.

  • If offline mode is enabled, Docs will save changes once the internet is restored. Otherwise, it's a good idea to make sure your child has access to a stable connection.

  • Teachers can use the comment feature to highlight parts of the text and leave notes, suggestions, or corrections.

Google Docs is an online word processor, similar to Microsoft Word. Students use it to write essays, complete written assignments, and take notes. They can work on the same document at the same time as their classmates, and teachers can leave comments to guide them.

Google Slides

Google Slides is a presentation tool that helps students create and share digital presentations. They can include text, images, videos, and animations to demonstrate their learning. It's often used for class projects, group work, and creative assignments.

  • Students might create presentations for projects, class reports, or creative storytelling. Teachers also use Slides to present lessons.

  • Yes! Like Google Docs, Slides supports real-time collaboration, so group members can all work on the same presentation.

  • Students attach their Slide deck and click “Turn In” just like they would with other file types.

  • Students can add videos, images, links, charts, and even animations or transitions between slides.

Infinite Campus

  • The Infinite Campus Parent Portal is a secure, online tool that allows families to stay connected to their child’s education. Through the portal, parents and guardians can view grades, attendance, class schedules, report cards, and important school messages—all in real time.

  • Parents and guardians will receive an activation key from the school to create an account. If you haven't received one or need help logging in, contact parentportal@swr.k12.ny.us

  • You can view your child’s daily attendance, current grades, assignments, class schedule, report cards, and more.

  • Once your account is set up, all your enrolled children within the district will be visible under the same login.

  • The Campus Parent app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play. Once downloaded, search for our district name and log in using your existing Parent Portal credentials.

  • Use the “Forgot Username” or “Forgot Password” links on the login page. If you’re still having trouble, reach out to parentportal@swr.k12.ny.us for assistance.

     

     

  • Attendance is usually updated daily, and grades are updated as teachers enter new assignments or assessments. This allows parents to stay current with their child’s academic progress.

  • Infinite Campus uses encrypted connections and secure logins to protect student data. Only authorized users—like parents/guardians and school staff—can access student records.
