More About The Expert
Jose Vargas, LCSW-R, CASAC, MC, is an experienced clinician and clinical supervisor with more than 20 years in social work and behavioral health. He has provided compassionate, evidence-informed care to individuals across the lifespan, from young children to older adults.
Vargas is dedicated to education, prevention, and community wellness, and has led numerous workshops on substance use, mental health, and overall well-being. Since 2015, he has served as a Clinical Supervisor at
Stony Brook Medicine’s Quannacut Outpatient Services.
In 2024, he received The Laura Goodale Award, recognizing his outstanding service, commitment to patients and contributions to clinical staff.
