School Emergency Communications

Posted Date: 5/21/25 (3:43 PM)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to inform you about one of the District's emergency communication procedures. Your child's safety is our highest priority, and we want to ensure you know what to expect if an emergency situation occurs.

In emergency situations (evacuations, lockouts, or lockdowns), you will initially receive:

  • A pre-recorded call
  • A text message
  • An email alert
These initial communications will identify the affected school and the nature of the situation, allowing us to alert you rapidly. Additional updates and directions will follow as soon as possible.

The full letter detailing our emergency communication protocols, including specific messaging for different scenarios, is attached. Please take a moment to review this information.

If you have any questions or concerns about our safety and security procedures, please contact my office at any time. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our schools safe.

Sincerely,
Gerard W. Poole
Superintendent of Schools
