English as a New Language at Shoreham-Wading River

The logo is a circular design with "SHOREHAM-WADING RIVER" at the top and "BUSINESS & OPERATIONS" at the bottom, both written along the outer ring in blue text on a gold background. The center features three interconnected blue gear wheels containing icons for SWR, a building, and a calculator, all surrounded by decorative wheat or laurel branches.

English as a New Language (ENL)

At Shoreham-Wading River School District, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for all of our students.  In alignment with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) guidelines and the vision of The Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages, our ENL program is designed to support students whose home languages are other than English.

We celebrate each child’s journey toward bilingualism, a journey that opens doors to a world of opportunities.  Bilingual children bring unique strengths and advantages to their education, and our program is committed to ensuring that they have access to the highest standards of equity and excellence in their learning experience.

Our goal is to provide a supportive and dynamic setting where your child can develop their full language potential and thrive academically and personally.  We are here to partner with you in celebrating and enhancing your child’s bilingual journey, and we look forward to the many successes they will achieve.
