First Page Fridays Kick Off at Prodell MS

Students at Albert G. Prodell Middle School are starting the school year with a celebration of reading through First Page Fridays, an initiative led by Middle School Librarian Mrs. Kalin.
First Page Friday kicked off on Friday, Sept. 11, when seventh and eighth-grade ELA students welcomed guest readers from throughout the school and district into their classes. Each guest shared the first page of an engaging book, with all of the selections connected by the theme, “Heroes.”
Featured titles included “The Red Bandanna” by Tim Rinaldi, “Ghost” by Jason Reynolds and “Posted” by John David Anderson, along with many other selections highlighted on the Prodell Library page of the website.
Students heard from a variety of guest readers, including Dr. Lewner, Dr. Sheehan, Principal Smith, Ms. Burke, Ms. Fallon, Ms. Gillott, Ms. Leccese, Mrs. Losquadro, Mrs. Mohabir, Ms. Shiffman and Mrs. Vitale.
Through First Page Fridays, the Prodell Library is creating opportunities for students to discover new books, hear from members of their school community and share in the joy of reading!
