Class of 2026 Grad Showcases Automotive Skills

Class of 2026 graduate Chris Murray turned his passion for automotive technology into an impressive restoration project.
As a student in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Automotive Technology 2 program at BOCES, Chris spent the school year bringing a 1973 Chevy C10 pickup truck back to life. When he purchased the truck, it had been sitting for a long period of time without an engine or transmission. Since then, he has dedicated countless hours in the shop restoring it piece by piece.
Every day, Chris tackled a new part of the truck. He replaced rusted floorboards and panels, located and installed a motor and transmission, and repaired years of old wiring to get the truck running again. Throughout the project, he approached each challenge with determination, problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
His restoration project showcases the hands-on skills he developed through the BOCES Automotive Technology program. Shoreham-Wading River congratulates Chris on this accomplishment and wishes him continued success as he pursues his passion for the automotive industry!
