Miller Avenue School’s second graders marked an exciting milestone during their Send-Off Celebration on June 22, surrounded by family members, teachers and staff.

During the ceremony, Principal Claudia Smith congratulated the students on their accomplishments and shared meaningful words of encouragement as they prepare for the next chapter of their journey in the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District. Among her advice, she reminded students to always choose kindness.

Each second grader was individually recognized and walked across a red carpet as family and friends cheered them on. The celebration concluded with a special performance by the entire second grade class, who sang “Walk Through Life” together.

This fall, the students will continue their journey as third graders at Wading River School.
