Shoreham-Wading River Hosts Valedictorian and Salutatorian Reception

The Shoreham-Wading River Central School District welcomed valedictorians and salutatorians from across the Town of Brookhaven for a special recognition reception held on June 11 in the Shoreham-Wading River High School library.
Held each year by New York State Sen. Anthony Palumbo, the event celebrated the academic achievements of the region’s top graduating seniors. Joining Sen. Palumbo this year were Assemblywoman Rebecca Kassay, Sen. Dean Murray and a representative from Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio’s office.
During the program, each student introduced themselves, shared their post-graduation plans and reflected on their academic journey. Students also spoke about their passions, the challenges they have overcome and the experiences they are most looking forward to at their respective colleges and universities. In turn, the elected officials offered words of encouragement and valuable advice.
The Shoreham-Wading River Central School District was proud to host this meaningful celebration recognizing some of Brookhaven’s brightest young leaders as they prepare to make their mark on the future.
