Balloons over Miller Avenue School

The excitement of the Thanksgiving holiday was hardly containable as Miller Avenue School second grade students marched in the school’s Balloons Over Miller Avenue parade, held on Nov. 25.
The cherished tradition was inspired by Melissa Sweet’s “Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy’s Parade” in which the students learned about the history of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. The students created their own versions of a balloon and marched around the school to the delight of the student body, who lined the hallways and cheered for their peers. The parade even included a grand finale with a visit from Santa and the Grinch.
