American Sign Language Students Promote Awareness and Understanding of Deaf Culture

High School students enrolled in the American Sign Language 4 class created an informational bulletin board to mark the recognition of National Deaf Awareness Month. In September, the promotion of deaf culture, language and community is recognized nationally, while spreading awareness of accessibility and inclusion.
The ASL students’ bulletin board, located in the high school’s C-wing, highlights important facts about deaf history, influential deaf figures and ways in which everyone can promote awareness and understanding. It also serves as an educational resource and a celebration of the rich culture connected to ASL
