Patriot Day coincided with Courtney Von Bargen’s kindergarten class at Miller Avenue School learning about colors. The young students were celebrating color week and Sept. 11 happened to be Red, White and Blue Day. 

The students sang “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” made patriotic crowns and talked about the importance of the Pledge of Allegiance. Even though they were too young to discuss the meaning of Patriots Day, the students learned an important lesson about patriotism.
