District Students Head to the Classrooms

The district proudly kicked off the 2025-2026 school year on Sept. 3, welcoming students, faculty and staff back for a year of learning, growth and community. The first day brought excitement and energy as Shoreham-Wading River High School, Albert G. Prodell Middle School, Wading River School and Miller Avenue School classrooms filled with eager learners ready to begin a new academic chapter.
High school freshmen attended a morning orientation program, facilitated by Principal Frank Pugliese and Assistant Principals Daniel Ackerman and Jonathan Lilla, in which they were briefed on several topics including code of conduct, scheduling and New York State’s cellphone policy.
Although the morning was one filled with excitement and new experiences, students districtwide settled down quickly to unload supplies and start the business of learning.
