Shoreham-Wading River High School students in Mr. Vincent Ball’s AP Literature class and Ms. Brenna Gilroy’s AP Language class visited the Walt Whitman Birthplace in Huntington Station recently. Exploring the historic site where the iconic American poet was born, students delved into the depths of Whitman's literary legacy, connecting with his profound works firsthand.

“Through guided tours, interactive exhibits and engaging discussions, students gained a deeper understanding of Whitman’s influence on American literature and culture,” Mr. Ball said. “This immersive experience not only enhanced their comprehension of Whitman’s writing but also provided valuable insights into the historical and cultural context of his time.”
